OutdoorNebraska.org | 29 YOUTH BIG GAME HUNTING ANTELOPE (Archery Only) Age Requirement: Youth age 12-15 may hunt with a youth archery antelope permit. Youth may apply for a draw unit permit at age 11 provided they are age 12 by the start of the season. Youth age 16 may hunt on youth antelope permits provided they are age 15 when they apply and provided they are age 15 on Aug. 20 (start of the season) of the calendar year. A Habitat Stamp is required at age 16. Youth Permit Fee: $13.50 for residents and nonresidents (includes $5.50 application and $3 issue fees) Youth Permit Limit: One per youth. Youth Permit Type: Archery only. Youth ages 12-15 wishing to hunt antelope with a firearm or muzzleloader must apply for a general firearm or muzzleloader permit. Area Open: Statewide. Season: Aug. 20 - Dec. 31, 2019 ELK AND BIGHORN SHEEP Age Requirement: Youth may apply at age 11 provided they are age 12 by the start of the season. Permit Type: No youth permit authorized, but youth may hunt on general big game permits. DEER Age Requirement: Youth age 10-15 may hunt with a youth deer permit. Youth may apply for a draw unit permit at age 9 provided they are age 10 by the start of the season. Youth age 16 may hunt on youth deer permits provided they are age 15 when they apply and provided they are age 15 on Sept. 1 (start of the season) of the calendar year. A Habitat Stamp is required at age 16. Youth Permit Fee: $8, for residents and nonresidents (includes $3 issue fee). Youth Permit Limit: Two per youth, but only one may allow the harvest of a mule deer. Youth Permit Types: • Youth Whitetail - valid for one whitetail for residents and nonresidents. • Resident Youth Deer - valid for any deer. • Nonresident Restricted Youth Deer - valid for any deer (not valid in draw units). Area Open: Statewide, except the Nonresident Restricted Youth permit is not valid in the Frenchman, Platte and Republican units. Seasons: Youth Deer permits are valid in these seasons • Archery: Sept. 1 - Dec. 31, 2019; • November Firearm: Nov. 16 - 24, 2019; • Muzzleloader: Dec. 1 - 31, 2019; • Late Firearm Antlerless: Jan. 1 - 15, 2020 (antlerless only) Habitat Stamp: Required of nonresident youth.
