Open Area: • The following section of the Missouri River: That portion of Nebraska east of a boundary commencing with U.S. Hwy. 281 from the South Dakota border, then south on U.S. Hwy. 281 to Neb. Hwy. 12, then east on Neb. Hwy. 12 to U.S. Hwy. 20, then east on U.S. Hwy. 20 to U.S. Hwy. 75, then south on U.S. Hwy. 75 to Neb. Hwy. 133, then south on Neb. Hwy. 133 to U.S. Hwy. 6, then east on U.S. Hwy. 6 to Interstate 480, then south on Interstate 480 to U.S. Hwy. 75, then south on U.S. Hwy. 75 to Neb. Hwy. 67, then east and south on Neb. Hwy. 67 to U.S. Hwy. 136, then east on U.S. Hwy. 136 to Neb. Hwy. 67, then south on Neb. MULE DEER CONSERVATION AREA (MDCA) Mule deer populations have declined in some units because of habitat conversion to row crops and brainworm disease. Nonresident demand for mule deer permits continues to increase. Permit demand for mule deer exceeds supply in the Frenchman and Platte units. In the MDCA: • Statewide archery permits are valid for mule deer and are available all season. • Statewide muzzleloader permits are not valid for mule deer.
