• Firearm hunters who wish to hunt mule deer in the Republican, Frenchman or Platte units must enter
the drawing for a permit in the June 10 - 28, 2019 application period.
• Buffalo MDCA permits and all remaining mule deer permits are available Aug. 5 on a first-come
basis. In 2018, Buffalo MDCA permits were sold out on Oct. 8.
• 92 percent of Frenchman Unit permits are allocated to residents and 8 percent to nonresidents.
• 85 percent of Platte MDCA permits are allocated to residents and 15 percent to nonresidents.
• In 2018, 2,501 residents applied for 1,840 Frenchman MDCA permits. All residents with preference
received a permit.
• In 2018, 591 nonresidents applied for 160 Frenchman MDCA permits.
• The Platte MDCA permit sold out on July 9, 2018.
• In 2018, there were 296 applicants for 210 nonresident Platte MDCA permits.

NOTES ON MDCA RULES:
• No person may obtain more than one MDCA permit or one Republican Mule Deer permit.
• Archery permits are valid for mule deer in the MDCA.
• Statewide muzzleloader permits are NOT valid for mule deer in the MDCA.
