Hunters looking to be successful at bagging a turkey this spring will have the opportunity to learn how to do it Tuesday, March 22, in Chadron.

Justin Powell of Alliance, a Nebraska Game and Parks Commission wildlife biologist and avid hunter, will deliver a presentation about hunting gobblers as part of the Commission’s Turkey Hunting Workshop series. The event will be 6-8:30 p.m. in room 231 of the Burkhiser Complex at Chadron State College.

The workshop is open to all ages and levels of experience. Powell plans to present basics for beginning turkey hunters as well as address a number of the sport’s finer points.

Attendees may sign up for the free event by visiting the “workshops” link at huntsafenebraska.org.
The Chadron presentation is being cosponsored by the Chadron State College Wildlife Club. It is one of six Game and Parks workshops across the state that lead up to the spring turkey seasons. The other two remaining workshops, which also require registration at huntsafenebraska.org, will be at Lincoln and Gretna.
