Don’t Laugh!

April 1, 2016 daryl bauer

By the look of the calendar, today is April 1, “April Fools Day”.  I would love to put an April Fools prank here on my blog, but I do not dare.  Once upon a time, I posted a spoof about an Olympic figure skater falling through the ice ON AN ICE RINK and that did not turn out well for her.  If she had just used her spud bar she would have been fine.  I know of another spoof involving a MYTHICAL CREATURE that was a hybrid cross between a pig and a carp.  You know, one of those “GMO” things.  I thought those posts were very funny and obvious spoofs meant to generate a chuckle or two.

What I learned is that there are a whole lot of people out there who take life way too seriously and have no sense of humor.  I have received all kinds of angry comments and e-mails about things like that, about posts that obviously were jokes.  No need to cause any kind of an uproar again, not gonna do it today.

People really need to fish more.

For those of you brave enough to laugh a little bit, you might get a kick out of this:  This good ole southern boy has either been spending too much time in his kayak, or too much time watching hunting shows:

Fun fact for the day, from this pointy-headed fish biologist:  Yes, common carp do smoke cigarettes, if any fish would smoke it would be a common carp, but no, they do not get cancer.

It is the weekend, you should get out in “nature”.  There all kinds of mental, physical, and psychological benefits from being “outdoors”.  Maybe go play a little “hide and seek”?

Let me know if you see one of these,

I will give you a clue, look for them near itch mites, ticks, mosquitoes, chupacabras, owls, rattlesnakes, and mountain loins.  They all are guarding every one of my best fishing holes.

Lighten up, laugh, and most of all, GO FISH!
