Nebraska Tourism Commission This state agency offers marketing consulting, grant funding, and advertising opportunities to tourism destinations in Nebraska. Its website also offers free event, destination and trip listing. Convention and Visitor Bureau (CVB) / Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) These are county-funded marketing organizations tasked with marketing a region or county. They offer similar opportunities as the state tourism commission, such as grant funding, consulting and event listing. Water Trail Websites Several websites allow free listings for your water trail. Keep these updated with content and photos as many end users utilize these websites for information on various water trails. Some websites even have interactive maps that allow you to label points of interest, put-ins and take-outs, etc. The following is a list of popular sites, although others may be available: Popular sites: paddling.com powderhook.com trails.com outdoornebraska.gov/watertrails americantrails.org river-management.org Google: Earth, Maps, AdSense, My Business Google offers an array of tools you can use to market your water trail. Its map service allows you to create an interactive water trail map for end users. Consider making a map if access to GIS software is not available. Each water trail is different in their scenic beauty and history. Figuring out what your water trail's "voice" could be challenging. If your water trail's group needs any assistance with marketing, contact the Nebraska Tourism Commission or your local Visitor Bureau. CANOEING AND KAYAKING ON THE NIOBRARA RIVER
