2017 State Water Trails Guide • Nebraska Game and Parks Commission 37 Ramp Launches: Ramp launches are a continuation of the ramp approach described previously. Ramp launches are the sole alternative to provide for trailered motorboat use. Ramp launches additionally accommodate canoes, kayaks, inner tubes, SUPs, and "tanking." Select construction materials based on their ability to construct and remain durable in submerged conditions. Armor the perimeter of the ramp launch to the extent required to water flows and scour actions and as designed by a qualified professional consulting engineer. Consider extending the ramp launch to the riverbed bottom of the channel to provide the greatest degree of safety for trailered motorboats and paddlers to avoid an abrupt drop off from the unseen bottom of the ramp.
