20 Nebraska Game and Parks Commission • 2018-2022 Focus on the Future Stakeholders are crucial in how fish, wildlife and parklands are managed. Communicating and interacting with the public through outreach and education is important to building support of our mission. Conservation of natural resources and outdoor recreation resources rests in the attitude of the citizens and the values they place on the resources. The public must see itself as a part of the natural world. We must ensure Nebraskans know about our native ecosystems and how their actions are part of the overall conservation of our natural resources. Education and outreach are of the utmost importance to conservation of our natural resources. Communicating key messages and accomplishments to stakeholders will result in a more informed public, and increased participation by stakeholders and partners in agency issues leads to greater accountability, accessibility and transparency.
