Platte River State Park Mallet Lodge Located only 8 miles from Mahoney State Park, the scenic Platte River State Park offers another great option for hosting group events. With overnight cabin facilities, catering options, wireless internet and audio equipment, Platte River State Park can host a variety of functions. Facilities include: • Mallet Lodge: Seating for 125, includes a kitchen, wood-burning fireplace, and scenic deck. • Decker Creek Lodge: Seats 75, popular for its secluded wooded location. • Bison Hollow: a group campfire facility near Decker Creek Lodge that seats 75. • Walter Scott Jr. Lodge Restaurant: e restaurant provides a scenic view with its large windows overlooking the Platte River. Guests may dine indoors, or enjoy their meal on the balcony. Catering is available. Please contact the park for more information on hours and catering menu options. • Red Barn: Great for small-group gatherings. Seats – and sleeps – 20 people. • Wild Turkey Shelter: Covered pavilion that seats up to 75, with convenient location. Activities: Platte River SP offers a variety of activities including horseback trail rides, swimming pool, hiking and mountain biking trails, paddle boats, youth fishing lake, observation tower, cras, picnic area with playground and tennis court. Enjoy an excellent team building exercise or quality family time at the Roger G. Sykes Outdoor Heritage Education Complex. is facility features an outdoor archery range, a small-bore rifle range, a trap range and an indoor pellet gun range. Expert instructors are available for one-on-one instruction and group event organization.
