The following must have a Nebraska hunt (small game) permit: • Any resident* 16 years of age and older who hunts upland game or waterfowl. • Any nonresident, regardless of age, who hunts for or possesses any mammal or bird. • All nonresidents who hunt coyotes, prairie dogs and other nongame animals. WHO NEEDS A FUR HARVEST PERMIT? • Any resident* 16 years of age and older or any nonresident regardless of age who hunts, traps or pursues furbearers needs a Nebraska fur harvest permit. WHO NEEDS A HABITAT STAMP? The following must have a Nebraska Habitat Stamp to hunt game species or to harvest furbearers in Nebraska: • every resident * 16 years of age or older • all nonresidents regardless of age * A resident is any individual who has lived in Nebraska continuously for 30 days and intends to become a resident of this state. A new resident should be prepared to provide documentation of residency (driver's license, voter registration card, etc.) to an officer when in possession of a resident permit.
