Schramm State Recreation Area is the birthplace of Nebraska Game and Parks and
is home to the exceptional Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium. It is a day use area that provides
spectacular views of the countryside, nature hiking trails, a playground and some
excellent birding opportunities. Plans call for Schramm to be converted to the
ecological and natural educational center of the Venture Parks. There will be many
options for unique, hands-on activities at the premier learning center in Southeast
Nebraska. Access to the Platte River will provide another educational opportunity
for visitors to experience the beauty of the area.
