18 | P a g e Bader Memorial Park (Merrick County) Bader Memorial Park, located 3 miles south of Chapman, is owned by Merrick County and contains seven sandpits. Most of the shorelines surrounding the lakes are overgrown with terrestrial vegetation and have steep sloping shorelines limiting angler access. Littoral habitat is limited in most lakes due to steep underwater slopes. Goals: Habitat, Prevention, Access Tasks: a. Selective shoreline reshaping to improve littoral fish habitat and improve angler and kayak access. b. Develop berm to prevent flooding from Platte River and introduction of AIS fish species. c. Chemical renovation of fish population to improve sportfish populations.
