35 | P a g e Ballards Marsh WMA (Cherry County) Ballards Marsh is a 250-acre shallow Sandhills lake that becomes heavily vegetated during the summer months. Overall goals are to improve angler access, fish habitat and maintain proper water levels. Bank access is nearly non-existent due to both emergent and submergent aquatic vegetation. Goals: Habitat, Access, Prevention Tasks: a. Improve shoreline access with bump outs, jetties and docks. b. Treat areas of dense aquatic vegetation to improve boating access. c. Chemical renovation of fish population to improve sportfish populations. Ownership: NGPC Potential Partners: NGPC Wildlife Division, Sandhills Task Force, Ducks Unlimited
