11 | P a g e Cody Park Pond East (Lincoln County) This site has been a topic for rehabilitation for more than 20 years. If deepened, it could potentially make a great community waterbody for families and youth anglers. In recent years, a proposal was written, and meetings held with North Platte's City Parks administration and Game and Parks staff. Goals: Habitat, Access, Prevention Tasks: a. Improve the aquatic habitat conditions within the pond by deepening it and reshaping the shoreline. b. Flood protection to reduce the introduction of AIS fish species. c. Improve sport fish populations by chemical renovation and restocking. d. Improve shoreline access with bump outs, jetties and docks. Ownership: City of North Platte Potential Partners: City of North Platte, Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy, Keep North Platte Beautiful, Lincoln County Enders Reservoir (Chase County) A boat ramp project was completed at Enders in the fall of 2022. During the project, breakwaters were constructed but the tops were left unfinished. An access project to build concrete paths on top would provide anglers better fishing opportunities. The lake basin should also be diversified with the addition of cedar trees, artificial structures, and rock shoals. Goals: Habitat, Access Tasks: a. Improve access on jetties with concrete walkways. b. Enhance in-lake fish habitat using cedar trees, shoals, and artificial structures. Ownership: Bureau of Reclamation Potential Partners: Bureau of Reclamation, NGPC Parks Division Frenchman WMA (Hayes County) Frenchman WMA is home to three sandpits. All three have primitive, sand boat ramps that make boat access and fish sampling difficult. Shoreline fishing access is generally good but during the summer months, grass can be tall and inconvenient for anglers. Improving access within the area would be a popular project in a location that is heavily used by local anglers. Goals: Habitat, Access Tasks: a. Improve boat access by building concrete boat ramps.
