Page 52 Glossary of Terms Aqua c Invasive Species (AIS) - Non-na ve plants, animals, and other organisms that primarily live in water habitats. They have spread beyond their na ve range and cause harm to the aqua c ecosystems. Aqua c Habitat – The water areas where fish and other aqua c organisms live, including all living and nonliving factors. Bathymetric – Measurement of water depth to provide informa on about the underwater terrain. Chemical Fish Renova on – The applica on of Rotenone to remove all gill breathing organisms from a waterbody. Eutrophica on – The process in which nutrients and sediment accumulate in a waterbody leading to algal blooms and oxygen deple on. Li oral – Near-shore habitats where sunlight penetrates to the lake bo om in sufficient quan ty to support photosynthesis. Rotenone – An FDA approved chemical used to remove all gill breathing organisms from a waterbody.
