Grassland and Riparian Restoration
Since 2013, the NWTF has worked with partners statewide and has spent nearly $1 million on private and public
lands, conserving over 14,000 acres of riparian, forest and grassland habitat through practices like invasive species
removal, prescribed burning, and timber stand improvement. NWTF is continuing to restore riparian habitats
through Super Fund and the Waterways for Wildlife Initiative.
Habitat Equipment
Since 2014, over 48,000 acres of habitat have been conserved or enhanced through the purchase of habitat
equipment with Super Funds. This equipment includes prescribed burning kits, no-till grass drill, mower, tree
planters, and tree saws that are maintained by more than 5different partners.
Hunter Access Efforts
The NWTF partnered with Nebraska Game and Parks Commission on the Open Fields and Waters (OFW)
program, a voluntary program to increase hunting access on private lands . NWTF has used Super Funds to
leverage Pittman-Robertson dollars with NGPC to make referral payments and provide incentives to private
landowners enrolled in OFW, opening over 52,000 acres of access since 2014.
