Elk • Residents may purchase a bonus point or apply for one elk permit. An applicant will not be issued an antlerless elk permit more than once every five years. You may apply via any of the following: • Online: Visit GoOutdoorsNE.com during the applicable periods. • Via mail: Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, 2200 N. 33rd St., Lincoln, NE, 68503. • In person: Visit a Commission permitting office. (For landowner elk applications, see page 21) You must provide: • A 2024 Big Game Application (available in this guide, at permitting offices or online). • Full name, birth date, address and physical description. • Last four digits of Social Security number (Non-U.S. citizens are exempt. Call 402-471-0641.) • Hunter or bow hunter education number, if required. • Payment: Credit or debit card (VISA, Discover and MasterCard only), cash, check or money orders. • Email address (used to notify successful applicants of permit drawings). Draw Results Those not providing valid email addresses will be responsible for monitoring their status online. Results of the draw will be available on or before June 21. Successful applicants will have until July 8 to complete the purchase of their awarded permits. Permits awarded but unpaid will result in the applicant losing their preference points and forfeiting the permits. Any undrawn permits may carry over to the Resident Permit Purchase Period and the Nonresident Permit Purchase Period. Any forfeited permits may be made available to the next unsuccessful applicant, then may carry over to the Remaining Permit Purchase Period. RESIDENT PERMIT PURCHASE PERIOD: July 10, 2024-Close of seasons – Residents may buy any elk, deer and antelope permits within permit limits. Eligible resident landowners may buy any limited landowner deer, elk and antelope permits. NONRESIDENT PERMIT PURCHASE PERIOD: July 24, 2024-Close of seasons – Nonresidents may buy any limited antelope and deer permits in any unit subject to availability and within permit limits. Eligible nonresident landowners may buy any limited landowner elk and antelope permits. REMAINING PERMIT PURCHASE PERIOD: Aug. 7, 2024-Close of seasons – Any remaining permits from the previous periods may be purchased in any unit subject to availability and within permit limits. Eligible landowners may buy any remaining limited landowner permits.
