Partnership makes improvements
to visitors center possible
Thanks to the generosity of many donors and the hard work
of park staff, Fort Atkinson State Historical Park celebrated the
rededication of its visitor center on June 3. Fundraising efforts
made possible the replacement of deteriorated logs in the fort
walls. Dated educational and interpretive displays also were
replaced to engage and inform park guests. The displays tell the
story of the soldiers and people who lived at the fort, the Native
Americans in the area at the time and the natural history of the
land. Living history reenactors continue to bring history to life
and captivate park guests at events throughout the year.
