4 | Turkey Hunting Information: 402-471-0641 SPRING SEASON Youth Archery March 25 – May 31, 2024 Archery March 25 – May 31, 2024 Youth Shotgun Saturday closest to April 8 (April 6) – May 31, 2024 Shotgun Saturday closest to April 15 (April 13) – May 31, 2024 • Hunters must use archery equipment March 25 – April 12 and may use either archery equipment or a shotgun April 13 – May 31. • Youth hunters must use archery equipment March 25 – April 5 and may use either archery equipment or a shotgun April 6 – May 31. FALL SEASON Archery and Shotgun Oct. 1 – Nov. 30, 2024 Youth Archery and Shotgun Oct. 1 – Nov. 30, 2024 Hunters may use either archery equipment or a shotgun. Season Dates Permits WHAT IS REQUIRED: TURKEY PERMIT, HABITAT STAMP All turkey hunters in Nebraska must possess a turkey permit to hunt turkeys in Nebraska. A Nebraska hunt (small game) permit is not required to hunt turkeys. A Nebraska Habitat Stamp is valid statewide and required of all hunters in Nebraska, except residents younger than 16 years of age and residents who hold veteran or 69-and-older senior permits. EXCEPTION: Farmers, ranchers and qualifying family members who hunt with a landowner permit on land they own or lease for agricultural purposes are exempt. One stamp is required for all hunting in a calendar year. Stamps are $25. New for 2024 Nonresident turkey permit price increases – The base fee for nonresident turkey permits increased from $125 to $140 starting Jan. 1, 2024. The base fee for nonresident landowner turkey permits increased from $62.50 to $70. An issue fee of $3 will be applied to each permit.
