A Habitat Stamp is not required. Nongame may be hunted statewide, year-round, with no bag or possession limits: Coyote Porcupine Prairie dog Woodchuck PROTECTED MAMMALS The following are protected and may not be hunted or trapped in Nebraska: Furbearers The following applies to all furbearers: Daily bag/possession limits – There is no bag limit for residents, EXCEPT the bag limit for river otters is one. Nonresidents may harvest up to 1,000 furbearers, with a fee for each additional 100 furbearers taken over 1,000. Open area – Hunting, trapping and running of applicable species is permitted statewide, EXCEPT in federal and state refuges and sanctuaries. Trapping hours – Furbearer hunting and trapping hours are 24 hours a day (12:01 a.m. on opening day). MUSKRAT, BEAVER Season dates, trap only – Nov. 1, 2023 – March 31, 2024 BADGER, MINK, LONG-TAILED WEASEL Season dates, hunt and trap – Nov. 1, 2023 – Feb. 29, 2024 BOBCAT Season dates, hunt and trap – Dec. 1, 2023 – Feb. 29, 2024 Season dates, running – March 1 – Nov. 30, 2023; no harvest Remarks – Fur harvest permit is required during running and harvest seasons.
