Bill Ranch SHP at North Platte recaptures
the life and career of the famed Army scout and
buffalo hunter-turned-showman, the creator of
the Wild West Show. The house and barn exhibit
memorabilia of this fascinating man.
The adjacent Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area
offers camping along the North Platte River with
Electric Plus, Electric and Basic camping, a group
picnic shelter and primitive restroom. During
the summer, area concessionaire offers guided
horseback trail rides and float trips.
A public archery range sits just west of the
campground at Buffalo Bill Ranch SRA. The range
has seven fixed targets ranging from 10-60 yards,
a shooting line, waiting area, bow rack, and
parking area. The range is first-come, first-served.
All types of bows are allowed at this range.
Archers may bring their own crossbow targets
as long as they are set up in front of the existing
fixed targets only. A park entry permit is required
to use the range.
