illow Creek, located 1½ miles southwest
of Pierce, provides a complete water-based
recreational experience. It also functions as the
perfect location to enjoy all the tourist attractions
northeastern Nebraska has to offer.
The 700-acre reservoir provides ample room for
both power boating and fishing, and the rock
jetties provide excellent shoreline access for
anglers. An 11-mile limestone hike/bike trail and
mowed equestrian trail circles the lake, providing
breathtaking views and exercise. The limestone
hike/bike trail connects to the town of Pierce.
Modern facilities include Electric Plus and
Electric camping, 10 with overnight horse corrals.
Modern restrooms and showers, playgrounds,
an unsupervised swimming beach, a disc golf and
archery course, and areas open to hunting (no
rifles) add to the year-round opportunities. There is
a dump-and-fill station for campers located north
of the Pierce County Court House.
FISHING
Willow Creek SRA offers fishing for wiper, crappie,
bluegill, largemouth bass, catfish, and walleye.
Rock breakwaters provide shoreline anglers some
excellent fishing access.
