O
ne of eastern Nebraska's most popular
recreation areas, Fremont has 401 land acres
and 270 water acres in 20 sandpit lakes. Located
3 miles west of Fremont, the area is a favorite
with campers, picnickers and water enthusiasts,
offering boating, fishing and water skiing. The
swimming beach is unsupervised and there is a
personal watercraft area, as well as a wheelchair-
accessible fishing pier. The campgrounds offer
Electric Plus, Electric, Basic and Primitive camping,
drinking water, updated showers, restrooms
and a dump-and-fill station, and the area has
one concession.
GROUP FACILITY
Tucked against the shoreline of Lake 16, Fremont
Lakes SRA has a facility for family get-togethers
and events. Contact the park for reservations.
FISHING
Twenty lakes offer opportunities for catfish,
largemouth bass, crappie, redear sunfish, and
muskie. Lake 2 provides trout fishing from fall
to spring. Fishing piers are located on several
of the lakes.
