40 | Parks Info: 402-471-0641 D anish Alps State Recreation Area, located southeast of Hubbard, is owned by the Papio- Missouri River NRD and managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The area features the 219-acre Kramper Reservoir and 520 acres of parkland, and offers Electric Plus and Basic campsites as well as an Electric Plus equestrian campground, hiking, biking and equestrian trails, picnic shelters, horse corrals, public boat ramp, a kayak-in campground and other amenities. The reservoir was built with boat anglers, fish and shoreline in mind. A wide variety of aquatic habitat features have been incorporated to make this reservoir suitable for fish to reproduce and grow rapidly. Underwater shoals, tree and brush piles, gravel, rock and diverse depths provide essential habitat for largemouth bass, bluegill, black crappie, channel catfish and walleye, all which have been stocked in the reservoir. Three water quality basins and a wetland complex are in place to help keep sediment out of the lake and keep the water clear. A number of rock breakwaters provide angler access and aquatic habitat and structure, and break up wind-generated waves. The breakwater on the west shore includes a wheelchair-accessible fishing pier. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Phone: 402-632-4106 Email: ngpc.danish.alps@nebraska.gov DANISH ALPS STATE RECREATION AREA
