ocated in Nebraska's Sandhills, 7 miles
northwest of Burwell, Calamus SRA is among
the most popular of Nebraska's large reservoirs
for camping, fishing and boating.
Calamus SRA offers campers Electric Plus and
Basic camping with modern restrooms, showers,
dump-and-fill station and water. Other facilities
include five boat ramps, primitive restrooms,
picnic tables, fish cleaning stations and a state
fish hatchery. The area encompasses 11,720 acres,
including the 5,124-acre lake.
Note: Due to the fluctuating water levels of
irrigation reservoirs, some boat ramps may not
be available throughout the year. For up-to-date
conditions, call the park office.
FISHING
Excellent fishing for walleye, white bass, wiper,
muskie, and channel catfish. The Gracie Creek
area is stocked regularly with rainbow trout.
