INDIAN CAVE STATE PARK

ith 3,402 rugged acres bordering the
Missouri River, Indian Cave State Park
is a pristine area devoted to camping, hiking,
disc golf, backpacking, picnicking, nature and
wilderness activities.
Located 10 miles south of Brownville and 5 miles east
on S-64E, Indian Cave boasts a variety of hardwood
trees, shrubs and other flora. There are 20 miles of
multi-use trails in the park. Autumn is particularly
spectacular here. Park-guided horseback trail rides
also are available in season. History buffs will enjoy
the restored schoolhouse and general store from the
old river town of St. Deroin, where old-time crafts are
demonstrated on weekends.
Group picnic shelters may be reserved. A ramp
offers Missouri River access for boaters. There is
fishing access from the banks of the Missouri, and
a shallow water habitat area also offers fishing,
kayaking, and canoeing.
CAMPING
Indian Cave's campground offers Electric Plus,
Electric and Basic camping. Camping ameneties
include modern restrooms, laundry, showers,
drinking water and dump-and-fill station. A horse
camp is available for those who wish to bring
their own horse and ride the trails. Adirondack
shelters are available for backpackers and there
is space for group camping.
