OutdoorNebraska.gov | 15 BLUESTEM SRA This 742-acre area has great spots for picnicking and camping, as well as water sports on the 325-acre lake. Bluestem SRA is located 2.5 miles west of Sprague and about 20 miles southwest of Lincoln. All types of boating are allowed at Bluestem, and the area has three ramps and docks. Bluestem offers Basic camping. The area also offers drinking water, primitive toilets and a dump-and-fill station. An unsupervised swim beach is also available. FISHING Bluestem SRA provides fishing opportunity for crappie, common carp, largemouth bass, bluegill and channel catfish. OLIVE CREEK SRA Olive Creek SRA is located 2 miles east and ¾ miles south of Kramer. It has 612 acres of land and water available to outdoor recreation enthusiasts. Other activities include Basic camping and picnicking. FISHING Although small, the 175-acre lake provides a quality fishing opportunity for a variety of fish species including largemouth bass, bluegill, saugeye and channel catfish. While all kinds of boats are welcome at Olive Creek SRA, there is a 5 mph speed limit. One ramp and two docks are available. Picnic offerings are also good at Olive Creek SRA, with picnic tables and grills available for use. There are 50 Basic camp- sites without electricity scattered throughout the area. Drinking water and primitive restrooms are available to campers. Blue River SRA is located 9 miles south of the I-80 Seward exit 379. Picnicking is permitted, though no tables, shelters or grills are provided.
