Nebraska: Saving the Hunt
Add 36,000 public hunting access acres in the next decade through land acquisitions and support of existing
programs such as the Open Fields and Waters Program. Increase hunter education and outreach efforts to create
more safe and responsible hunters and conservationists. Recruit hunters who will stand for our outdoor pursuits.
Nebraska: Saving the Habitat
Conserve or enhance 50,000 total acres of vital nesting, brood-rearing, roosting and loafing
habitat for wild turkeys. Conserve or enhance 12,500 acres of grassland habitat, 15,000 acres of
critical streamside areas and 22,500 acres of forested habitat.
