Greenish gold color with irregular dark patches. Similar to less-common sauger Stizostedion canadensis. INFORMATION Average size: • Average adult size is 12–20 inches. A master angler is 24 inches or 8 lbs. The Nebraska state record is 16 lbs, 2 oz. Habitat: • Does best in cold and cool water environments but will tolerate and do well in warmer lakes and reservoirs. • Usually found along the bottom in open water but will congregate along rocky shorelines while spawning in spring Range: • Found naturally in the Missouri and other rivers.
