SHERMAN RESERVOIR STATE RECREATION AREA

nother fine water-oriented area, Sherman
Reservoir is located 7 miles northeast of Loup City
and features a 2,845 acre lake and 4,721 land acres.
All types of boats are permitted at the lake, which
offers three boat ramps. The area offers both Basic
and Primitive camping in 10 campgrounds around the
park. Other facilities include: picnic tables, shelters,
water, dump and fill station, coin operated showers,
primitive restrooms, two fish cleaning stations, and a
private concession area located near Marina Bay.
FISHING
Sherman Reservoir consistently has some of the
best crappie fishing in the state. It's also one of
Nebraska's best fisheries for walleye, white bass,
flathead and channel catfish.
Sherman Reservoir SRA offers a public archery
range on the south side of the lake accessed at
the park's main entrance. The range consists of
five shooting lanes at targets from 10 – 50 yards.
Users need to bring their own archery equipment
and targets are for field points only. Range is open
from sunrise to sunset.
