OutdoorNebraska.org | 61 G allagher Canyon SRA is located 10 miles south, 2 miles east, 1 mile north and 1 mile west of Cozad. It is a 400-acre irrigation reservoir with 24 acres of recreation land in a secluded and beautiful setting. Although a challenge to get to, Gallagher Canyon offers outstanding scenery and some of the state's best fishing for crappies and line-busting flathead and channel catfish. All boat types are allowed at Gallagher Canyon, with a 5 mph restriction. One ramp and dock is available. The heavily wooded campground offers Primitive campsites and primitive restrooms. Picnic offerings include tables and grills. FISHING Gallagher Canyon offers crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, flathead catfish, fresh water drum, carp and sauger.
