owring Ranch SHP near Merriman is a Hereford
demonstration ranch donated by Eve Bowring,
a former U.S. Senator, in memory of her husband.
The ranch house displays fine antique china, crystal
and silver, as well as memorabilia from their active
public service careers. The visitor center interprets
ranching, homesteading, geology, wildlife, and
many other areas related to the Sandhills and
the Bowrings.
Step back in time and share the experience of
frontier life. Take an opportunity to see the replica
Sod House and its contents, and be a part of the
living history activities at the ranch, which include
a vegetable and herb garden. Scheduled tours are
available by request.
CAMPING
Camping is available at nearby Cottonwood
Lake SRA.
