2019 Annual Report • Nebraska Game and Parks Commission 11 Y O U R N E B R A S K A W E E K E N D S . . . T I M E W E L L S P E N T Outdoor recreation is an important part of our quality of life in Nebraska. State park and recreation areas account for most of the top 20 tourist destinations in the state. Nebraskans love to spend time outdoors hiking, watching wildlife, boating, fishing, camping and hunting. Spending time outdoors is time well spent. It helps us unwind, relax and get in touch with nature. It also gives us the opportunity to make memories with friends and family. Outdoor enthusiasts tag us @NeGameandParks, sharing their outdoor adventures with us; and, we share those experiences with others on social media, increasing awareness of all the great things you can do in outdoor Nebraska. Here are some highlights from this year. Heather @kindred.story at Platte River State Park. Emily Burch @eburchphoto at Weigand Campground, Lewis and Clark Lake. Zachary Butt @chasingthemidwest (unknown location, Nebraska).
