THE KEELBOAT
THE CONCEPT
» Created a natural playscape
exemplifying all the information
and history of the park in order to
make it experiential.
THE MATERIALS
» Identified that downed trees
will provide a good percentage
of necessary material for initial
installation of play features.
» Planting for the evergreen maze
must take place immediately so
the vision can be realized as soon
as possible.
» Safety will be a priority so all
material will be thoroughly
inspected prior to installation.
THE FINAL DESIGN
» The concept plan developed for this guide will serve
as the master plan for development.
» NGPC Planning staff will assist in planning, budgeting,
and prioritization of phases of the playground.
» An outside consultant will be hired to provide
additional detail drawings as needed.
THE CONSTRUCTION
» Parks Division staff and community partners will
contribute as much of the material and equipment as
is applicable.
» Volunteers and educational groups will be contacted
for assistance with planting of the living features
within the playscape.
» Private contractors will be enlisted to help with the
construction of the keelboat.
