50 design THE CONCEPT » Balancing, climbing, and building will be the primary active events. » The target age group for this site is less than six years old, primarily due to the size and monetary investment. THE MATERIALS » Loose fill surface material will be used under all elements in the area. » Aside from engineered wood fiber, all other material, logs, rocks, etc., shall come from the site or park. THE FINAL DESIGN » A basic final design drawing will be reviewed by agency staff and community stakeholders. THE CONSTRUCTION » All tools and equipment will be provided by Parks Department. » After final approval, construction shall happen over a two-week period. MANAGE THE BUDGET » Budget will have a line item for replenishment of surface material for "use zones" of climbers as necessary. THE WORKFORCE » Seasonal employees will monitor and inspect the natural playscape. » Parks Department will provide a CPSI trained individual to train seasonal employees how to perform inspections. THE ROUTINE INSPECTION » Because of the heavy use, the natural playscape shall be inspected at reasonable intervals (e.g., once per week) in the morning as early as possible. » Inspection forms provided by Parks Department shall be used and retained per records retention requirements. THE YEARLY INSPECTION » Annual inspection will be constructed by a CPSI trained individual for the entire natural playscape.
