New Process for Purchasing Awarded Draw Permits
There is a new process for awarding big game draw permits starting in 2019. (See more on page 8)
• Applicants for deer, antelope and elk draw permits who supply valid email addresses will be notified
when draw is complete.
• Applicants not providing valid email addresses will be responsible to monitor their status online at
OutdoorNebraska.org.
• Results of the draw will be available on or before the first Friday in July (July 5, 2019).
• Successful applicants will have until the third Friday in July (July 19, 2019) to complete the purchase of
their awarded permits.
• Any permits that remain unpaid will be allowed to go to period 2, which begins the first Monday in
August (Aug. 5, 2019).
• Permits awarded but unpaid will result in the applicant losing preference points and forfeiting permit.
Additional Significant Changes
• Addition of a second antlerless whitetail bonus tag in the Loup East and Loup East Antlerless Only
Season Choice Area units to increase antlerless whitetail harvest due to high densities.
• Split of the Niobrara River elk unit to Niobrara East and Niobrara West units, and absorb the Boyd Unit
into the Niobrara East Unit.
• Split of the Box Elder Unit antlerless elk season dates to Early and Late seasons for non-landowner
permits.
• Addition of a doe/fawn bonus tag on October landowner antelope permits, also making the permit valid
in open seasons with weapons legal for each season.
• Shift of a portion of the deer permits in Pine Ridge from Any Deer to Any Whitetail in response to public
reported and research recorded mule deer deaths over winter and spring.
• New allocation of doe/fawn antelope permits in Dismal Late Unit.
• Expansion of the Frenchman West deer unit boundary and increase in Frenchman Antlerless Only
Season Choice, Frenchman West Antlerless Only Season Choice and Frenchman Whitetail unit quotas in
response to depredation complaints.
