Permits: Statewide Muzzleloader or AO Season Choice Wahoo, plus special access permit; contact DeSoto NWR at 712-388-4800 for access permit or visit fws.gov/refuge/Boyer_Chute/visit/visitor_ activities.html. GIFFORD WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA (WMA) Location: Sarpy County Season Dates: Sept. 1 - Jan. 15, 2020 Permits: Special access permit is required and available to archery, youth deer, muzzleloader, and AO Season Choice Wahoo permit holders. Special Access Permit Application Period: July 1 - 31, 2019 Rules: There are 200 required access permits issued by drawing. All regulations relating to season dates and weapon types apply, EXCEPT that muzzleloaders are only allowed during the December muzzleloader season and the late firearm season. Muzzleloaders are not allowed during the November firearm season. Centerfire weapons are prohibited. FORT NIOBRARA NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE Location: Cherry County Season Dates: Sept. 1 - Nov. 15 and Nov. 25 - Jan. 15, 2020 Permits: Access permit is required and available to archery, youth deer, muzzleloader, and AO Season Choice Keya Paha permit holders. Special Access Permit Application Period: Aug. 1 - Nov. 1, 2019 Rules: Only archery equipment and muzzleloaders allowed. Area closed during the November firearm season. Walk-in or canoe access only. Hunters may harvest a maximum of one deer of either sex and one antlerless whitetail, if allowed on permit.
