YOUTH, LANDOWNER AND ANTLERLESS ONLY SEASON CHOICE PERMITS
Persons who obtain a youth, landowner or Season Choice permit may hunt:
• Firearm: Nov. 16 - 24 • Late Firearm: Jan. 1 - 15, 2020 (antlerless only, any legal weapon)
• Archery: Sept. 1 - Dec. 31 • Muzzleloader: Dec. 1 - 31
DEER UNITS WITH SPECIAL RULES AND BOUNDARIES
• Calamus West: Bessey Ranger District of Nebraska National Forest and Valentine National Wildlife
Refuge (NWR) are closed to use of bonus antlerless tags, bonus antlerless Whitetail tags, Season Choice
antlerless permits, and harvest of mule deer does on November Firearm permits.
• Republican: Harlan County U.S. Army Corps of Engineer lands are closed to use of Season Choice
antlerless permits.
• Sandhills: McKelvie National Forest and Valentine NWR are closed to use of bonus antlerless tags,
bonus antlerless Whitetail tags, Season Choice antlerless permits, and harvest of mule deer does on
November Firearm permits.
• River Antlerless Private Land Only: Private lands adjacent to the Missouri River (lands within 3 miles of
the banks of the Keya Paha, Platte, North Platte, South Platte and Republican rivers; portions of the Cedar,
Elkhorn, Loup, North Loup, Middle Loup, South Loup, Niobrara and White rivers. Federal and state public lands
closed. (see map on page 20)
• Frenchman: Enders, Medicine Creek, Red Willow and Swanson SRA/ WMA closed to use of Season
Choice Antlerless permits.
DESOTO NWR ANTLERLESS MUZZLELOADER
DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge is located in Washington County. Access permit is required. Contact Peter
Ray at 712-388-4800 or visit fws.gov/refuge/Desoto/visit/visitor_activities.html. Seasons: Dec. 7-8, 2019;
and Jan. 4-5. 2020. Hunters need access permit and statewide muzzleloader or Wahoo AOSC permit and
may only harvest antlerless deer.
