Happy New Year 2018!

December 27, 2017 daryl bauer

If you have been reading my blog for any time, you know I am whacked.  That is true in many ways, one of which is my celebration of “New Year’s”.  You see, I pay no attention to what some calendar says or when astrological New Year’s occurs, meterological New Year’s, Dick Clark’s New Year’s, whatever.  No, New Year’s Day occurs the first day I walk on the ice to ice fish each year.  Now that is a day worth celebrating!

Again, I am whacked, but I would much prefer to celebrate by watching a jig drop rather than be in a crowd and watch some stupid phony ball drop.  However, I do hear they have some kind of “walleye drop” up Lake Erie way, but even then I do not believe they are on the ice.

Now if that does not get you all fired-up to ice fish, well, maybe I am not the one that is “whacked”.

As you are reading this I will be mostly “out-of-the-office” over the holidays.  I cannot say how much ice-fishing I might get done, that depends on conditions, and where I might be, but if I can walk on water, I’m there, and I will be grinning from ear-to-ear!

And it is a Happy New Year!

P.S.  If you do not understand that last memey-thing, you obviously do not ice fish, and I pity you!
